At the dawn of the Bush era, one of the founders of cinema verité in the USA, Robert Drew, made this doc about John F. Kennedy's authority and leadership during his tenure as president between 1961 and 1963. Narrated by Alec Baldwyn, this motion picture essay is structured around archive footage and especially excerpts from four films on JFK shot in the heat of the moment by Drew. There are selected scenes from "Primary" (1961) picturing the presidential campaign of the then 42-year-old senator. The challenges following Kennedy's inauguration, from racial issues to the Cuba missile crisis, are depicted in the sequences of "Adventures on a New Frontier” (1962) and “Crisis”(1963). The shock from the aftermath of Kennedy's assassination is revealed in scenes taken from "Faces of November" (1963). Robert Drew is now aged 85 and was honored by a retrospective of his films at the 2005 It´s All True.
