Pepita Ferrari interviewed 38 documentary makers from 14 countries to provide us with a broad overview of this film genre, whose boundaries with fiction is increasingly under discussion. Several documentarists like Errol Morris from the USA, Albert Maysles and Kim Longinotto from the UK, Werner Herzog from Germany, French filmmaker Claire Simon, the Canadian Sylvain L`Espérance, as well as the Brazilian veteran Eduardo Coutinho, give their testimonials on documentary filmmaking techniques, characters, topics, and the ethical choices that they make in the construction of their work.
