While boredom can be annoying to the vast majority of people, there is also a positive side to it. This is the unusual focus of this documentary film, which is based on the different life experiences of people such as a desert nomad, a Wall Street stockbroker, the last living WW2 female spy, a painter obsessed with time for the past 40 years, and Brenda Spencer, a 16-year old American girl who shot her schoolmates. John Malkovich's narration conjures up this dubious feeling of being overwhelmed by the grinding routine. After all, how many different ways are there to cope with this seemingly lack of meaning and purpose in human life? How many people in the world share this feeling? The answers may lie locked inside your mind.
