The film lovingly traces the life and work of Brazilian veteran director Paulo César Saraceni through the eyes of his friend and collaborator Ricardo Miranda, one of Brazil's most renowned film editors. Miranda was not interested in making a conventional biopic and "Ethnography of Affection" takes a free form rather than a chronological approach to telling Saraceni's story, especially from the perspective of his life-long friends.
