One of the actors in the film "The Road to Kandahar" (2001), by Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Hassan Abdulrahman, became famous. As the film hit US one could unveil his true identity. Born in the USA under the name David Belfield, he converted to the Islam, got involved with the Iranian secret service after the revolution led by ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 and murdered Ali Akhbar, an aide of Shah Reza Pahlevi. In this film, Hassan gives a detailed account on his
striking 1980 escape and his exile in Iran since then.
