An active character of the Dutch cultural scene for nearly 50 years, journalist and filmmaker Jan Vrijman (1925-1997) became well-known as a columnist of newspaper Parool and author of controversial films like Reality of Karel Appel (1962). In private, however, this father of four children was haunted by depression. In this film, his oldest daughter
attempts to untangle his personality.
