Integrating the series “The Language of Film”, this work by Geraldo Sarno recovers the creation process of documentary “Aruanda” (1960) through the narrative of its director, Linduarte Noronha – a film that portrays a community of slave descendants in the state of Paraíba who lived at the edge of civilization and whose detachment and harshness were considered the founding mark of Cinema Novo.
