Author the acclaimed book “A Bagaceira”, had as the founder of Brazilian modern social novel, the subject of this documentary, writer José Américo de Almeida, had a key-role in the national political scene. He recalls the times of the 1930 Revolution, his campaigning for president in 1937, the well-known interview of 1945 that caused the fall of dictator Getúlio Vargas, his experience in the administration of the Paraíba state, the ministry and his political retirement, in Tambaú, where he died at 93, in 1980.
