In the conservative and chauvinist state of Paraíba in the 20’s, Anayde Beiriz soon stands out as no ordinary woman. A graduate teacher, she writes love stories and poems had as daring and leads her love life with a kind of freedom only men were allowed to have. His relationship with João Dantas, son of a traditional family, places her life in the heart of a political storm after he kills João Pessoa, the president of the Paraíba province, triggering the 1930 Revolution.
