The fruit of dysfunctional families and victims of all sorts of traumas, the 40 kids of the Mulberry Bush Boarding School near Oxford, England, are all emotionally disturbed children, whose violent behavior led them to be expelled from regular schools. At this special educational institution, the kids are cared for by 108 employees endowed with seemingly infinite patience and devotion, and always willing to face the children's constant bouts of rage that inevitably erupt into physical aggression and destruction. By resorting to various instrumental techniques, rather than mere punishment, these professionals strive for the children to gain balance and self-control, since this appears to be their last chance.
