Charged with the murder of a police officer in Dallas, Texas, Randall Dale Adams, a drifter with no address or fixed job ended up in Death Row in May 1977. It was only through the persistence of director Errol Morris in clarifying the circumstances of the crime that led to the public exposure of one of the worst legal blunders in the history of the USA. Adam's life was saved, and it was later proven that he was the wrong man at the wrong place at the wrong time.
