Two British environmental activists, gardener Helen Steel and postman Dave Morris were defeated in a libel suit which McDonald's had brought against them over a pamphlet critical of the company. Benefiting from the notoriety earned by the first version of this documentary in 1998, they appealed successfully to the European Court of Human Rights seven years later. This new version features reenactments of key courtroom sessions and an interview with writer and author of "Fast Food Nation", Eric Schlosser. The film helped McDonald's change the way it advertises its products for children.
