In their return to the Siberian tundra, which appeared in some of their earlier films, Finnish directors Anastasia Lapsui and Markku Lehmuskallio portray the Nenets indigenous people in different life situations, from birth to death. Their everyday life is dictated by the rhythm of seasons, which regulate their displacement for basic survival needs like hunting or fishing. Leading a simple and sustainable life, and very often facing harsh climatic conditions, especially in winter, the Nenets' most precious asset is their reindeer herd. These animals are used both as a means of transport and for food. Their skin is used for tents and clothing.
