As is common with nearly all French penal institutions, at the Rennes male penitentiary there is a reception center for the inmates' relatives, who must check in at the place upon arrival. Even from the outside, these relatives share their own prison experience, since they have to adhere to very strict visiting hours and rules. One must arrive early or be faced with the adjournment of a much anticipated visit. Waiting seems to be all these people - mostly women - do in a continuous cycle that repeats itself week after week.
