Paulo Gracindo (1911-1995) was one of the most popular actors in Brazil. His life story spans the development of media communication in Brazil. Gracindo grew up in the Northeastern city of Maceió and landed in Rio when he was 20. He was peniless and even went hungry, but was determined to get a job in the theater with Procópio Ferreira, at the time the greatest actor in Brazil. With his unique husky voice, Gracindo became famous on the radio as a presenter and actor of soap operas. On TV, his popularity reached its zenith with characters like Odorico Paraguaçu in the soap "The Well Beloved". The documentary features testimonials from friends and co-workers and contains a wealth of archive footage that traces the career of this beloved actor celebrated for his powerful performances and who worked all his life even when Alzheimer's disease and a near blindness undermined his energy.
