Brazilian Competition Jury Awards

Short Film:

For its daring in coherently uniting documentary and animation, for its efficiency in mixing subject and language, the jury concedes an honorable mention to the short film RÊ BORDOSA DOSSIER, by César Cabral.

For the recovery of a pioneering personality in the art of composing music for film and underlining the importance of his work for Brazilian filmography, the awards Best Documentary in the Short Film Brazilian Competition, Canal Brasil Short Film Incentive Award, and Megacolor and Estúdios Mega Award go to the short film REMO USAI – A COMPOSER FOR THE SCREEN, by Bernardo Uzeda.

Feature Film:

For its corageous approach, for its thematic pertinence and narrative sensibility, the jury concedes an honorable mention to the film THE ABORTION OF OTHERS, by Carla Gallo.

For the quality of its investigative work, for the socio-cultural importance of its character and its approach, the jury concedes an honorable mention to the film SIMONAL – YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TOUGH IT WAS, by Claudio Manoel, Micael Langer, and Calvito Leal.

For its aesthetic and formal unity, for its cinematic characteristics, and for the unconventional approach to its character, the CPFL Energia/It’s All True Award “A Window to Contemporary Documentary” to the Best Feature or Medium-Length Brazilian Documentary goes to the film Permanent Pan-Cinema, by Carlos Nader.
