For the third consecutive year, CPFL Energia
proudly sponsors another edition of It´s All True
– International Documentary Film Festival. This
is the second time that medium-length and feature
films compete for the CPFL ENE RGIA / IT´S ALL
TRUE Award “A Window to Contemporary
Documentary”, the largest Brazilian incentive
award to the documentary genre. Last year, our
partnership with It´s All True allowed the festival
to be extended to the city of Campinas, in São
Paulo State, and to Rio Grande do Sul State. For
2008, two new Brazilian cities will be added to the
list: Caxias do Sul and Bauru.
By means of its cultural enhancement policy, in
2006 CPFL Energia partnered up with the It´s All
True Festival with the purpose of transforming
information into knowledge through the exhibition
of documentaries that provide multifarious views of
the world expressed in a wide variety of languages.
To CPFL Energia, investing in culture means
much more than financing cultural and artistic
production. It is an effective way to help society
develop a more consistent and integrated view of
the contemporary world, while also engaging in
successful social intervention alternatives. Begun
in 2003, CPFL Energia’s comprehensive cultural
program comprises approximately 500 activities
yearly encompassing several fields of knowledge
and the arts. These activities seek to promote
socially responsible and sustainable practices, and
many of them are broadcast weekly by Cultura TV
in São Paulo State.
At a moment when information glut overwhelms
our thinking, documentary cinema emerges as a
powerful ally for the understanding of the most
complex issues of our time. It is within this guiding
framework that CPFL Energia fully champions such
an important initiative as It´s All True.
