Contemporary society, diffuse and fragmented, is based
on and organized by knowledge, cultural manifestations
and art. CPFL Energia, which for almost seven years
has developed a broad cultural program centered on
recognizing the complexity of the contemporary world,
has always identified in documentary cinema a language
that is privileged to face this reality and illuminate the
construction of meaning among this dispersion.
This understanding has transformed the support of It's
All True Festival into one of the most long-lasting actions
of our cultural program. For the sixth consecutive year,
we sponsor the festival and continue to offer the largest
national award for the stimulation of documentary
cinema: the CPFL-ENERGIA/IT'S ALL TRUE AWARD "A
Window to Contemporary Documentary" for Brazilian
feature and medium-length films.
Since creating the program CPFL Cultura, we have tried
aggregating to the countless artistic and cultural events
produced in Campinas, Santos, Sorocaba, São Paulo,
Bauru, Ribeirão Preto and Caxias do Sul more qualified
ways of outreach of our content and broadening access
to our programs.
We believe that the support of the It's All True Festival,
the production of a line of documentaries with invited
directors and our two weekly programs on TV Cultura,
Café Filosófico and Invenção do Contemporâneo, are
clear examples of this orientation. These activities,
in addition to making videos and other audiovisual
content available on their own internet sites, help us to
disseminate with quality the large archive of reflections
on the contemporary world that we have built over the
seven years of CPFL Cultura.
Participating once again in this festival will help us
to follow one of our principal objectives: to develop
a critical vision of reality, anticipating problems and
facing, with excellence, the challenges of our time.
