In January, 1998, the quiet community of Chatham-Kent, Canada, was shook by the brutal murder of Jennifer, an 18 year-old girl, with five gun shots in her own home. When investigations reveal that the murderer is her only brother, Mason, a young man with a history of car robbery and other small crimes, the doors are opened to the development of a peculiar family dynamic in the tragedy. Condemned to life in prison, Mason's parents, Brian and Leslie, regularly visit him yet do not ignore the evidence that he planned to kill them as well on that fateful day - having even forged their wills for his own benefit. All of them talk about the crime, slowly building an intriguing mosaic about the mysteries of the human mind.
