During the disorderly process of developing Paraná state in the 40s, an indigenous population that until then had very little contact with white men was exposed. The Xetá people were quickly expelled from their land, victimized by extermination activities; the few survivors were dispersed among other locations. The near extinction of this people helped provoke an ecological disaster in the region.
