Zélia Maria, from the state of Pernambuco, moves to São Paulo after her wedding in 1966. Her husband finds a job in the suburbs and Zélia writes letters to her family in Recife. Today, 44 years later, these letters are a source of knowledge and different emotions for her daughter (the director of this film), who never met her. She tries to construct her memory through these letters.
