This documentary puts in check the actions of some European and American scientists in their first contacts with the Yanomamö of Venezuela in the 1960s and 70s. One of the first to arrive was anthropologist Napoleon Chagnon, whose research formed the book "Yanomamö - The Fierce People" and attracted worldwide attention to this tribe's allegedly original forms of social organization. Chagnon's theories provoke controversies and curiosity, leading other anthropologists like Kenneth Good and Jacques Rizot, as well as geneticist James V. Neel, to develop their work in the same region. Almost 40 years later, the intervention of these intellectuals and their effects on the Venezuelan Yanomamö population are the target of a tense debate.
