One of the few female journalists of her time and the first woman to travel around the world by air (on the Graf Zeppelin in 1929), the Englishwoman Lady Grace Drummond-Hay left behind a flavorful testimony of the historic moment in which she lived. The only female passenger on the Zeppelin, which was financed by the press magnate William Randolph Hearst, she registers her spirited impressions in articles written for Hearst's papers and also her own diary. The widow of a nobleman 50 years older, at this moment Grace is involved in a complicated love story with her married colleague and mentor, Karl von Wiegand. Flying over the four corners of the world, the two become companions in this glorious adventure, shortly before the stock market crash in New York.
