It is with great pride that the Secretaria de Estado
da Cultura de São Paulo supports and follows the
development and consolidation of “It’s All True,”
which is the largest event in Latin America dedicated
to non-fiction films. We’re already at the 15th
year, proving with each edition documentary film’s
plurality and inexhaustible capacity for renovation.
Entertainment, denunciation, homage, historical
reconstruction, behavior: reality is both possible
and accessible in this genre, which in its versatility
of themes and language has found a powerful ally
for its diffusion.
Once restricted to critics, filmmakers, producers,
and cinephiles, the documentary is winning over
diverse audiences and reinforcing its importance
in world film production. Considering its impressive
numbers and the consistency of the work it screens,
It’s All True is, without a doubt, a showcase that
verifies and exposes this phenomenon, consolidating
its impact on the city’s cultural circuit more and
more every year.
