Two years after the death of her grandmother, director Wing Yan Lilian Fu digs into the material she has about her, like photos and an interview, planning to make a documentary. The more she talks with the rest of her family, the more she realizes that a narrative entirely pinned to realism will not cover her grandmother’s grandiosity and decides to also incorporate her imagination.
