Salvadoran archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero (1917-1980) is remembered 32 years after his murder while he presided over mass. Through excerpts of his homilies, letters and radio programs as well as testimonies from his assistants, the film reconstructs the trajectory of a religious man who went from conservatism to active militancy, in a tireless effort to stop rising violence that finally culminated in a civil war between the government and guerrilla fighters, costing the lives of over 30,000 people between 1980 and 1992.
