Part of the CIA for almost 30 years, between the end of the Second World War and the ‘70s and director of the organization 1973-1976, William Colby participated in and commanded countless clandestine operations in several countries in the world. When president Richard Nixon ordered him to prevent Congress from finding out about past abuses, the diligent Colby unexpectedly refused to obey. His son, filmmaker Carl Colby, takes on the task of searching for explanations not only for this disobedience, but also to trace the profile of a family man who tried to be as normal as possible, though he considered killing enemies (even on a large scale) legitimate in the interests of his country.
