ARRIVING AT ITS 17TH EDITION, It's All True, one of
the most important international documentary festivals
in Latin America, confirms its strength and daring. And it
reaffirms, at the same time, that the documentary is in
an absolutely special moment in Brazilian cinema, with
new generations following one another while at the same
time renewing the genre.
Those who look at the current cinematic scene in our
country will verify that the multiplication of film programs
and festivals all over the map does no more than confirm
that we live in special times. In addition to showing increasingly
restless and varied productions, film festivals
and programs function as areas of debate and exchange
of experiences, all of this with an audience that renews
and multiplies.
It is in this panorama that It's All True stands out with a
singular shine. The event opens space for new generations
to encounter consolidated names in the documentary
panorama of feature, medium-length and short films
made in film or video, created by Brazilians and foreigners,
with an emphasis on Latin American filmmakers.
While these encounters take place, the audience is also
rewarded with the most representative work that is being
done in the documentary field on our soil.
Petrobras, the largest Brazilian company and largest
sponsor of culture and the arts in our country, is also the
principal giver of incentives to cinema made today in Brazil.
We support initiatives in the most diverse areas of cinematic
production, which means we pay special attention
to film programs and festivals.
We understand that this action integrates with the company's
prime objective: to contribute in every possible
way to the development of Brazil.
