José Joffily
Filmmaker with a master’s
degree in Communication by
UFRJ, the Paraíba-born worked
for 20 years at the Department
of Film and Video at Universidade Federal Fluminense
(UFF), as an assistant professor.
In 1981 he founded his producing
company Coevos Filmes
and in 2000 he was the president
of the Brazilian Society of
Filmmakers. His extensive film
production includes praised,
award-winning works like: “Two
Lost in a Dirty Night” and “Who
Killed Pixote?”.

Maria Dora Mourão
Professor at Escola de Comunicações e Artes of USP, she took
her post-doctorate in France, on
film and new technologies. She
teaches theory and practice of
editing, being co-writer and coorganizer
of main books in the
area. Mourão had edited the
documentarys “São Paulo, Symphony and Cacophony” and
“São Paulo Cinemacidade”. She
participates of several organizations
of the brazilian film and
from aboard, like the Brazilian
Forum for the Teaching of Film
and the Audiovisual Arts.

Carlos Nader
A videoartist and documentary
filmmaker, this São Paulo-born
artist is, above all, an essayist.
He works with themes that discuss
issues like identity, the feeling
of time and the link between
man and the camera. His
videos were screened and awarded
at cultural centers in more
than 20 countries and broadcast
on over a dozen major TV
channels in Brazil and abroad.
His works include “Conception”,
“Carlos Nader”, “São Gabriel da
Cacheira – San Felipe” e “The
End of the Journey”.
