BETSY A. MCLANE
McLane is an American professor
and researcher. She is former Director of Projects of The American Documentary
Showcase, a project of the Department
of Cultural and Educational
Affairs of the Department
of State of the USA. She
was part of the Advisory Board
of the National Film Registry
of the American Library of
Congress. She is author of the
book “A New History of Documentary
Film” which is studied
in university classrooms
around the world.

CESAR CHARLONE
Born in Uruguay and based in
Brazil, Charlone is a filmmaker
and director of photography. He has lectured at the International
School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. As director
of photography, he was nominated
for an Oscar for “City of God” (2002) and nominated
for a Bafta for “The Constant
Gardener” (2005). He also directed
“O Banheiro do Papa”
(2006) in partnership with Enrique
Fernandez and “Artigas, la Redota” (2009).

MICHA X. PELED
A documentary filmmaker, Peled was born in Israel and is based
in the USA. He made his first
film in 1992, based on his mother’s
history: “Will my mother go
back to Berlin”, for the German
TV network WDR. Winner of
over 20 international awards,
he has just finished the Globalization
Trilogy, an ambitious project that took 12 years and
includes the films “Store Wars:
When Wal-Mart Comes to Town” (2001); “China Blue” (2005) and
“Bitter Seeds” (2011).
